Before the Western powers carved up Africa in 1885 at the Berlin Conference, creating the 'scramble for Africa', which would see the German Second Reich, amongst the other Western powers, deal out levels of imperialistic brutality on Africans, Afro-Germans had lived in Germany for at least 200 hundred years prior to this.
